Arts & Recreation Grant
RECREATION GRANT POLICY
The Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation (SXFN) supports recreation activities through sponsorship for organized sports or arts/music programs when financial resources are available.
1.Individual grant sponsorship is provided for SXFN members under the age of 19 for ½ of the entry fees of organized sport or arts/music program to a maximum of $500.00 per child per fiscal year.
2.Group grant sponsorships is provided for SXFN members over the age of 19 who are part of an organized team for team sponsorship. Team sponsorship is provided for ½ of entry fees for registration fee for a league or tournament. A team roster must be presented at time of application and must consist of 70% of SXFN Members Teams can qualify for a maximum sponsorship of $1000.00 for the fiscal year.
3.Team may be considered for a maximum grant of $1000.00 for the purchase of Team Jerseys based on written application and availability of funds, and 70% of the team are SXFN Members.
4.If a community team is competing at a Provincial or National level, then the entry fee will be sponsored up to a maximum of $700.00
5.The Stswecem’c Xgattem supports athletes who attend the National Aboriginal Indigenous Games by travel and registration sponsorship:
Individual Registration fees: $75.00
Camp Fees – Try Outs $50.00
Try Out Accommodation Assistance $100.00
Meals for Athlete $50.00/Per day
Try Out Fuel Assistance $100.00
Team Registration $650.00
Training fee ½ to maximum $1000.0
6.Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation Recreation Grant Committee with be made up of Education Manager, Social Development Coordinator and one SXFN Councillor.
Recreation Grant Application Procedure
1.SXFN member will fill out application form available on the SXFN Website and submit via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax 250-440-5679 ATTENTION: Recreation Grant Committee.
2.Recreation Grant Committee will meet bi-monthly as follows : April/June/August/October/December/February
3.Recreation Grant Committee then submits cheque requisition to SXFN Administrator for signature.
